Profile

Anand Padmanabhan received his BE degree in computer engineering from the University of Mumbai, India in 2000, his MS and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Iowa in 2003 and 2006 respectively. Anand is currently working as a senior research scientist in CIGI and the CyberGIS Center for Advanced Digitial and Spatial Studies. His interests include: (a) Advanced Cyberinfrastructure and cyberGIS; (b) Geospatial data science and big data; (c) Geographic information systems and science; (d) High performance, data-intensive and cloud computing; and (e) Parallel and distributed systems. He has developed a number of tools and algorithms to enable cyberinfrastructure environments. Has have worked with large national cyberinfrastructure projects like the Open Science Grid (OSG) and NSF Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), engaging them to solve geospatial problems for various science domains.
